Well, which is it going to be?
I can't stand the commercials anymore, so satellite radio is clearly coming to my house and car.
But which company? I couldn't care less about Howard Stern, so he's no selling point.
Do you have a preference? Why?
Thanks
Chris

XM
I never though I'd have too much radio to listen to but I have docking stations in my car and two in the house. One near my bed with a headphone and one in the living room on a boombox. I listen all the time,

Hard choice but decided on Sirius due to:
NPR stations 24 hours Rolling Stones channel 24 hours Bruce Springsteen channel many NFL and college games

We've had XM for 2 years and love it. We just bought the hand held portable walkman type radio to go with our car radio and boombox. We take the boombox to the beach and out to the pool. Never had one single problem yet and their channel lineup just keeps growing.

I have both. XM through subscription and Sirius through Dish Network. To me the song selections on the stations I listen to on each are about the same. Some differences, but nothing major. On alt.radio.satellite there are religious wars between cheerleaders for both systems, very reminiscent of the PC vs. Mac arguments, but music content-wise they seem about the same to me. I have read posts from Sirius owners complaining about DJs talking over the music on some channels. I personally haven't heard it on either system, though.
If I had to choose between them, and was buying new equipment, I'd go with XM. Their business future looks much more stable, IMO.
XM has a lower price-point on hardware.
Sirius has Howard Stern, if that means anything to you.
Each system has different sports agreements. I think XM has baseball and hockey. I think. You might want to check their respective websites if you're interested in sports programming.
Either one beats the ever-lovin' hell out of terrestrial radio! You will wonder why you didn't buy satellite before. Honestly. I can't remember the last time I listened to a CD in the car.
