When Christina Christian was booted off, it seemed within reasonable possibility. She wasn't anywhere near the talent of Tamyra Gray or Kelly Clarkson. She was roughly in the same league as RJ Helton, Justin Guarini, and Nikki McKibbin as far as her vocal talents were concerned.
But now, it seems clear why Christina was booted so early after seeing Tamyra getting voted off INSTEAD OF Nikki last night.
Unfortunately, it IS all about race. There is no other plausible explanation why someone so talented as Tamyra would be voted off by the American masses over someone so obviously less talented as Nikki.
This isn't to say Nikki is incompetent; she's good, but clearly limited when compared to the awesomely capable Tamyra.
It's like comparing a sporty car such as a Mustang to a Formula One race car. No contest.
People have pointed out that Justin is mixed-race (part black) and still doing well, but as the only guy left, he's guaranteed a huge share of the mindless teeny-bopper vote.
It's really sad. You'd think that we were trying to get past blatant racism as an enlightened society, and then this cold slap of reality in the face happens.
