spoiler space x x x x x x x x x x x xx Didn't you just KNOW Dead Daddy was gonna lead the son to water? Knew it when I realized what the two subplots were this week.......Cool episode. I'm really beginning to like the character of the formerly paralyzed older guy too. (That was a great show last week too when they revealed him in the wheelchair.) Lost probably isn't the greatest show to hit the airwaves, but like Alias, Monk, Dead Zone, and my other new fave this year, Desparate Housewives, it's original at least. It feels like a fake reality show! (I know, it's an oxymoron, but regular watchers know what I mean.....)

I think you hit the nail on the head. I'm a big Survivor fan and that's why I started watching it. But it wasn't till this episode aired that I really enjoyed it.

My wife and I have three theories:

1. They all died in the plane crash and are in purgatory. 2. They crash-landed on an 'Island of Dr. Mureau' (sp?) type place. There are rational explanations for the weird things that are happening to them, which will be explained later. 3. The series will conclude with a really lame 'it was all a dream' ending.

I'm leaning towards theory #1.

And yet it survived a violent plane crash intact.

[Spoiler Space] x x x x x x x x x x x x x ... So, was that the tail of the plane the doctor found by the waterfall? I don't think he told anyone that when he came back to the camp. Seems like a strange thing not to mention.

If the island magically made the father 'rise from the dead', wonder if we'll be seeing the other supposedly dead people in later eps?

Yes, that appeared to be the plane's tail that Jack found.

The episode certainly shored up the purgatory theory. And how did Locke know exactly where to find Jack - poor plot point or a part of the mystery? Jack told people about the waterfall when he got back to camp, so whoever goes to get water is going to see the wreckage.

It seems like either: A) his body was never loaded onto the plane, he was a ghost, or C) the island brought him back to life in the same way it made Locke walk again. Hopefully we'll find out at some point.

I wasn't sure if it was the tail or just a chunk of debris. If it is the tail, he might want to delicately mention that to the lady whose husband was back in the bathroom since she believes he's still alive on the island somewhere. Maybe he figures he'll point it out when they go to gather fresh water. I wonder what the significance is of the dolls. I guess there doesn't have to be, but I assume JJ put those in there for a reason. He plans his storylines out so far in advance I always think he carefully foreshadows things.

I never watched 'Party of Five' before, but did Matthew Fox always have that smokin' bod? He looked really hot (and hairy) when he trying to save that drowning woman. Hopefully there's more of that in the future!
