The naysayers said he had to disassociate himself and he quit his post. The naysayers said he had to sell his stock to be totally disassociated and he accomodated them that way as well. The company missed his savvy business acumen, not to mention people at work missing him. The stock went south because of his now missing leadership and the morale problem due to the loss of that leadership.

That video of Cheney promoting the Arthur Anderson Accountants for their stellar accounting practices is a gem and should pop up on the campaign trail!

Except of course that in the real world - where people know that it's 'Andersen', and no that's not a small distinction if you're trying to pass judgement on their reputation at the time - the firm was one of the Big 5, and received such accolades from every corner of the corporate world and every corner of the globe. And, of course, the fact that this entire mess began brewing early on in the Clinton watch.
