So Star Jones tells Meredith Viera that even if her husband will miss Star's November 13th wedding (because he is receiving an award that weekend) she cannot bring her son instead. Ms. Jones claims the invitation explicitly states this is not allowed.
What do you all think? Is this an 'over the top' restriction, or is it totally proper etiquette?

She told this to Meredith right in front of the audience? Her son is older, right, 15ish? I think Star is an ass.

While she may be an ass to have done the announcment on television (actually no may be involved) if the invitation was specific, if it says Mr. and Mrs without the children's names addressed on the invite then the children no matter the age are not invited. When did invitations become transferable?
I'm no fan of Star Jones and her pretensions to grandeur and social status but in this case she is correct. (assuming we have all the facts)
