Senator to Seek Justice on Law

Ok, I could swear that several months ago it was announced that Donald Sutherland would replace Wiest. Did I imagine that?

No, the other night on tv they said Fred Thompson

I don't always agree with Thompson's politics, but he IS a hell of an actor...he's great at playing surly boss-types...

I have a small problem with him taking on this gig while still being a senator, though. I realize it's a small part - I'm a huge Law and Order fan. I don't know - doesn't he have a responsibility to the tax payers to do finish this job before starting a new one?

Sutherland was mentioned, I think during Wiest's first season. I don't think he was ever officially announced as a new cast member, just that he was interested/was a possiblity in taking over for Wiest.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Thompson on the show.

Oh, ok...at least I wasn't totally hallucinating that Sutherland was being considered I think Thompson will be good too, but Sutherland would have brought a more paranoid, intense vibe to the part, IMO.

IMO, I never got into her character. I got the academic background/purist thing, but never could get past this earth mother/school marm affect.

As long as Wiest is gone, I'm happy. You could replace her with a tree stump and it would have just the same impact.

Same here...also she was sooo bland. Hopefully Thompson will raise the energy level.
