OT: Sonoma Winery Suggestions

Well I've asked advice of AGC on almost every trip I've taken in the last 3 years, so why stop now? LOL

In about 2 weeks I am going to the Sonoma Valley (specifically the Dry Creek area) for a 'Passport' weekend of wine and food pairings. However we will have several other days there to check out the area and other wineries in the Sonoma Valley. We will be staying in the Russian River Valley the whole time, so pretty centrally located.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sonoma Cutrer if you like chardonnay. Piper-Sonoma for the bubbly.

Korbels!

Great wine, greater brandy, fantastic restaurant, and a fabulous garden that has places for picnics (you buy the bread, cheese, and wine right there.

we enjoyed going to St. Francis winery... took a small tour. the chardonnay is really good, as well as the merlot.

Viansa was good too.. they had an outdoor barbeque, and a Really nice shop. it's the one right next to Sears Point Speedway.

I hope you're planning to go to the town square. it's LOVELY.... many nice restaurants, very scenic and charming. I'm sooooo jealous. It's been over 3 years since we moved away from San Fran, and we miss the weekends we spent in Sonoma during the 2 years we lived there... I worked for a SF family and they let us use their country home from time to time... just staying in their poolhouse - twice the size of our Pacific Heights studio! - was So great... private pool, gated community, terrific view of Valley of the Moon.... ****sigh****

Check the winery (and other locations/attractions) websites. Some of the wineries have tours by previous arrangement only, and you can make the arrangements on-line.
