Madonna/Sean Penn Fight Song

I lost track of the Julia Roberts thread where we were discussing the 'Madonna versus Sean' song, but I did locate the song. It's entitled 'Till Death Do Us Part' from the Like A Prayer album. It is about the marriage and especially the 'hostage' incident.

That's a major stretch. Do you have some evidence that it is about HER marriage and not just a song about the bad end of a relationship?

Why would Madonna be singing about someone *else* getting beaten up and tied up in basement...when she's the one it happened to?

Cherish is on Like a Prayer? I thought it was on True Blue...but I'm not an afficionado of the slut's discography.

Uhhh.... Where in these lyrics does it say anything about being tied up and held hostage? The song could be about any abusive relationship or bad marriage, and probably IS about Sean Penn, but I don't think the song has anything to do with the 'hostage incident.' If you're going to draw that broad a conclusion, you'd have to accept the hypothesis that 'Like a Prayer' was an assertation of Madonna as god incarnate.

I didn't say that it *did*. I was told that it did, but once the person posted the lyrics, I said in another post that he/she was wrong. G-dammit, why don't you try to pay attention??
