Stones Keith Richards Electrocution Footage Sold Online December 17, 2005, 10:32:11
STONES ELECTROCUTION FOOTAGE AUCTIONED ONLINE
Rare footage showing ROLLING STONE KEITH RICHARDS suffering a near-fatal electrocution onstage is being auctioned online.
Shot in 1965 at a Stones gig in Sacramento, California, the colour super-8 film shows Richards accidentally touching his guitar strings to an ungrounded microphone before he collapses to the floor.
The brief film then shows his bewildered bandmates and a shocked audience. It is expected to fetch around $10,000 (£5,560), writes website PageSix.com.
Recalling the incident, Richards later said, 'I woke up in the hospital an hour later. The doctor said (electric shock victims) come around or they don't.'
The auction at website Itsonlyrockandroll.com ends 16th December 2005
