Kate Moss buys MUM a new porsche

3 A.M. GIRLS... IT LOOKS like Christmas has come early in the Moss household.

Former cocaine addict Kate Moss has bought her mother Linda a £50,000 Porsche to say thanks for sticking by her through rehab, after the Mirror exposed Kate's drug habit in September.

We hear that the 31-year-old supermodel got pals to help her search for a blue 911 Targa - the sports car her mum had always dreamed of owning.

'Kate desperately wanted to show how grateful she is to her mother for standing by her through her battle with cocaine addiction,' our motor-mouth mole tells us.

'Linda has always wanted a Porsche but not a flashy one. That Targa isn't made any more - it's bit of a collectors' car - so it's ideal.

'Kate really had to hunt around for it but it's worth it as Linda is absolutely chuffed.

'It's a big thank you for sticking by Kate through a rough couple of months.'

We revealed in October how Linda, 56, flew out to Arizona to take part in family therapy sessions at the Meadows Clinic after Kate, mother to three-year-old Lila-Grace, made a desperate plea for help.

A source told the Mirror: 'Linda spoke to Kate every day as the story of her drug-taking unfolded and throughout her time in Arizona as well.

'Kate might not be sure of her friends but she knows she can rely on her mother. When Kate asked her to go out to Arizona, Linda didn't hesitate - she booked a flight straight away.'

And it shows that the Croydon-born lass and her mum have finally patched things up after a series of rows earlier this year over Linda's disapproval of her dating junkie Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty.

For a while, they weren't even on speaking terms but Kate made a bumper effort to patch things up in September, when she whisked Linda off to Ibiza for a dose of all-night clubbing.

Lucky Linda got to meet her fave rockers, the Kaiser Chiefs, and told singer Ricky Wilson that she's 'their biggest fan' after watching their Ibiza Rocks gig at top club Manumission.

So while Linda roars around in her new motor and Kate rakes in hundreds of thousands of pounds in new modelling contracts, the lucky ladies Moss be havin' a very Merry Christmas indeed.

Well, that's certainly a better way to spend your $$ than drugs.

What was her mother going to do? Abandon her? This is nothing but a publicity stunt. She was in rehab; now her image is in rehab. Look like a saint. With models vanity is always in fashion. Did it take Moss all these years to finally get her mother something she really wanted?

Even her (witting or unwitting) allowing of the filming of the dope snorting episode to begin with, the resultant closely covered -and quite brief- rehab stint (she's almost instantly recovered...yay!), and the highly publicized modelling job losses during the crisis, could have been part of larger stunt to get her back in the papers in a more spectacular way. Everyone loves a naughty gal turned recovering addict, especially a photogenic one........the sympathy points were piling up.

Now all can cheer her on as the job offers comeback fast and furious. Celebdom can fete her as an International cause celebre. Girl's got a bright future suddenly, instead of just being yesteryear's flavor. Nice work if you can get it.
