Instant Success?

I wonder how can anyone think that winning American Idol can be considered an instant success. The candidates work so long and so hard for the entire season and long before in order to turn themselves into a real professional singer, the only difference is that we get to see some of the process. After so many seasons of American Idol I was looking out to see what happened to the winners of the old seasons of the show. After a little reading on where they are now I have to agree with Kathryn Sparks that:
Each “American Idol” winner became successful in his or her own unique way. Though some of them are not plastered on People magazine like Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood often are, they reached pinnacles in their career using other avenues. Whether it be a Lifetime movie, recording a gospel album or writing a heartfelt memoir, you’ll find these past winners haven’t forgotten the spark that originally led them to the top. With “American Idol’s” newest season on the brink, we have yet to see who is next in line for that coveted title.
Being an American Idol is usually a phase, an important one bur just a phase in their musical career. Each of them is evolving in his unique way and is becoming more mature performer and artist.
