Gedeon has the potential to move on to have a successful career as a gospel singer.

Simon makes so many grandmother jokes because the stark reality is that the winner of 'American Idol' is expected to bump whoever is currently dominating the 'Most listened to song in America', 'Billboard Hot 100 Chart'. Currently that would be Ne-Yo, Sean Paul, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, T-Pain, Nelly, Chris Brown, Dem Franchize Boyz and Natasha Bedingfield.
For the Hot 100, Kelly is the only one to do it for a uear.
Kelly Clarkson successfully did it for a full year on the Hot 100 and Pop 100 Charts, Ruben Studdard successfully did it for a full year on the R&B and Gospel Charts , Fantasia Barrino successfully did it for a full year on the R&B and Urban Music Charts. Carrie Underwood will successfully top the Country Music Charts for a year.
