It will do very well in big cities at first, then I think it will have a serious decline in dollars per screen. It will do OK in medium markets, and poorly in rural smaller markets. The movie will do GANGBUSTERS on DVD.

in this day and age, joe public doesn't really give a shit about gay love,,,,,or he's gone on. 30 years of this, and he realizes it is what it is.

Where do you live? Joe Public still opposes gay marriage, and there are enough Joes out there who oppose equal rights for gays.
Brokeback may not score big box office in Peoria but it will score big video and DVD rentals because Joe Public in Peoria doesn't want others to know what he's watching.

My wife and I watched the trailer in a theater a few days ago and sensed an audible revulsion to two men passionately embracing and kissing on the big screen.'
Oh really, Dave? And has anyone mentioned that the two cowboys don't do any such thing in the trailer? So maybe you were just projecting. Or hoping.
