Hollywood darling Gwyneth Paltrow is still being haunted by her choice of outfit for this year's Oscars.

The Gothic-inspired, see-through dress, created by top British designer Alexander McQueen, did not impress the world's fashion press, and the actress' fashion faux-pas is still being used as an example of what not to wear in America.

An invite for a recent party at celebrity favourite Le Dome on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, told patrons the dress code consisted of 'anything but Gwyneth Paltrow's Oscar dress.'

Sometimes celebrities dress to impress or win approval; sometimes they do it to get attention.

In the same year, 2002, Gwyneth Paltrow has managed to win approval (Fashion Icon, Vogue; Style Icon, InStyle), and get attention (Oscars).

(The Oscar dress was probably Madonna's idea.)

I think they are all way too young to be considered a fashion icon. Nicole Kidman - well the last time I saw her being interviewed on some red carpet she looked like a pasty space case. I think she is huffing

I feel so sorry for Gwyneth Paltrow. You are OBSESSED! Be careful or you'll find yourself sitting in the bushes outside her house. Watching endless hours of Access Hollywood and ET can do that to you, dontcha know.
