I'm surprised they don't rerun the New Mickey Mouse Club and Kids Incorporated. Several of those kids have done reasonably well in music/tv. And for people my age (mid twenties) they were a part of our childhood. At least the earlier versions of the shows.

The ORIGINAL Mickey Mouse Club was in reruns for a long time (but probably couldn't be shown again, without having mucho problems clearing the rights, w/the various performers.)

Didn't one of the original Mouseketeers commit suicide (Jimmy?)

One reason the ratings are down is that they show the same limited batch of reruns over and over. There were 360 hour-long episodes of the original Mickey Mouse Club, but Disney Channel only reruns a batch of about 60 shows.

I caught a little bit of the original Mickey Mouse Club late at night recently. Maybe I'm just a cynic, but it was incredibly dull to me. And the original goodbye song sounds like all the kids are drugged up with Ritalin. It's so slow and ponderous, you want to go and give the kids some coffee or something.
