Best Raw Talent

Just joined here. Have watched AI since the beginning. Who do ya'll think has the best raw talent this seaon. I have really enjoyed Elliot and think that he is getting better every week. He is the singer who seems to have the best pitch control of all that are left now. Now, if he would just get rid of the nervousnous on stage that would be great. Oh well, looking forward to hearing everyone elses opinion.

I do not like Elliot so much. I am a huge fan of Taylor.

You have good company in advocating for Elliot. There are a lot of hardcore Elliot fans out there. Some of them are good friends of mine.

But, speaking only for myself, I've not been very impressed by him. To me, his voice is nothing special, and there is nothing entertaining about him. He may well be the best technical singer (I couldn't comment...I don't know much about music) but I wouldn't buy a CD of his, nor would I go see him in concert.

I'm a Taylor fan. I love gravel-edged voices in general; Michael McDonald is one of my favorite singers. Also, he makes me smile every time he is

Well, they all have gotten better over time, as they become accustomed to the stage and scrutiny.

That nervousness you mention hinders his pitch control. I believe Katharine has been the most consistent. She's had one or two flubs, but overall I believe she has the best vocal talent and quality in the competition. The only thing she lacks, though she is working on it, is stage presence. I further believe she has the most to offer the execs. One can learn stage presence, enthusiasm, and visual entertainment value, even if it has to be faked. You can't fake a good voice. Kellie, in comprison, has the natural entertainment value, but has too high of a chance of screwing up the vocal. With Katharine, you know that the audible quality will be there, even if she doesn't dance around as much or smile at the right time. You can still close your eyes and feel the song. With Kellie, you close your eyes and she loses 99% of her appeal.

He may be the best raw talent (in your opinion) but he most certainly has not gotten better each week. And in fact has flown under the radar in the fact that he has not changed his style one iota.

Elliott has raw talent - so does Kellie and maybe Chris. Paris and Katharine have been trained in singing and performing since birth, growing up in show business, so they are not even in the same category and yet they compete for the same votes. Many people do prefer undiscovered, natural talent and in that category, Elliott is my favourite.

Yeah Elliot has raw talent and just like raw meat i dont want no part of it.

i can't say i could stand to listen to any of them for an entire album. maybe katherine with a really good jazz trio or quartet. i couldn't sit through a concert of many of them. my guess is kellie pickler would be the most entertaining in a live show. i could enjoy a katherine show if she picks songs like she has been on AI - great taste in tunes. that tayler dude would get boring fast with all those forced clumsy moves he calls 'feelin it.' if he'd just sing i could appreciate his voice. paris has a lot of raw talent, but would probably be best in musicals. elliot can do the soulful pop ballad thing very well, but his voice doesn't spread much firther than that. chris needs to join a rock band.
