American Idol: Kelly needs your support tonight!

I'm not a big Kelly fan, although she has improved vastly over the past month. If not for the injustice of what happened to Tamyra, I wouldn't even be saying this.

Nikki is probably going next. But if she doesn't, then Kelly is in real danger, because Justin's lobotomized teenybopper fan group will vote for him even if his 'act' consists of jutting his questionably endowed crotch against Simon's forehead, and doing a Pig Latin version of Who Let the Dogs Out.

I really like Nikki, but she can't beat Justin in the final round. Kelly might be able to, if we all vote for her and support her. Please, we CAN'T let Justin win this. The world has enough slimy Vegas wannabes without calling one an American Idol.

So, in short, even if Kelly's voice isn't at her best tonight (probably because of the strain of singing), we have to vote for her, or she could very easily go this week.

Or maybe it's because people like her singing? Just a thought. While I disagree with your Mariah Carey comment in general, I have to agree that I found her vibrato tonight annoying. I hate to say it but I think Justin did the best tonight of the three. Nikki was ok, but ultimately weak when held up against the other two. Her week to go.

Kelly's singing voice is miles above Justin and Nikki. She has extraordinary control and range...and as Simon would say, if she doesn't end up as the American Idol, it will mean that we have failed.

Kelly's vocal prowess will make her rich, American Idol or not.

UGH and unfortunately she didn't do it! I actually found myself rooting for Nikki, because her performance is the least removed from the Mariah/Whitney set. I never understood the popularity of that type of 'singing', destroying the national anthem at games, saying words like 'break' like 'bah-ah-ah-rake'. The only time Kelly completely blew me away was when she did that 40's song. BTW Nikki has amazing eyes, which will work well i.e. videos, I'm sure producers are hearing the cha-ching of that aspect.

I think/hope Justin's next.

I've been a big fan of Kelly, but when she started with the vocal gyrations I also tuned out. She was fairly straightforward early on and really nailed the big band show. However, she seems unsure now that the spotlight is so totally turned on her and is trying to sing the songs to death. I was cringing during 'Without You', one of the worst songs ever written. She did it full justice. She also admitted she was tired with the competition and wanted it to be over, which is certainly affecting her performances.

I'm a really big kelly fan and I hope she wins the whole thing. Her voice is the real thing. Justin is getting by on the looks and his hips. Nikki bless her heart....she did better this week and only sang flat a couple times this week.

I became hooked when I saw Kelly's big band performance...that was incredible!!! It seems like that big band performance was a turning point...it catapulted her into the national psyche, and maybe the resulting pressure has had a negative effect as you say. I, too, have been disappointed in every performance since.

Yes, the big band performance was awesome. She sang it as well as Bette Midler does and that's saying something.
