American Idol - 3 rumors I heard

A local show was discussing American Idol and mentioned three things that I was wondering if anyone else has heard about?

1. They said that Luther Vandross was scheduled to be the Guest Judge for next week's competition before he suffered a stroke.

2. They said that starting next week, the contestants will pick one song to sing and the judges will select the second song that they sing. That will be interesting as long as they are fair about it. They could really pick a bad song to give someone, ensuring that they have a bad performance.

For example: If they are for Josh, they could have him sing 'Shameless', and then give Clay 'Shake Your Booty', Ruben 'Mickey' (by Toni Basil) and Kimberly something like 'Ice, Ice Baby'. They wouldn't have a chance to sound good.

3. They also said that when it comes down to the final three conterstants, the voting might change to where they have people call to vote who they want to be kicked off. I guess the reasoning is that Clay fans would vote against Ruben, and Ruben fans would vote against Clay, taking one of them out. But this sure wouldn't work if Josh is in the final three because I think most everyone would gladly call for two straight hours to vote to kick him off. He'd be gone by a landslide.

I've heard that as well.

They won't do that, no matter how manipulative the show is. They might sabotage Kim that way, but not Clay or Ruben.

Next week is going to be Bee Gees music, not judges' choice. That may be final 3, if they're still doing judges' choice with all these crap guest judges and crap theme nights they keep dredging up.
