AI should take out the background vocals

I'm not a regular AI viewer, I do try to watch it whenever I can. I've noticed plenty of times when the background vocals would mask the contestant's vocal weakness. You could tell when the contestant couldn't hit the high note. Wouldn't it make more sense to get rid of the background vocals or at least lower the volume of their mics?

This season is just so much better than the last 2 season.
